The following is a synopsis of a promotional film we were feverishly working on here at Red Coffee Records. We use the term "were" as it suddenly dawned on us that we did not have the financial resources necessary to complete such a gargantuan cinematic endeavor.  However, we present the following summary for your enjoyment. Excerpts from the script are also presented afterward. AS SOME OF YOU MAY NOTICE, the script excerpts are not in the archaic standard industry format, but have been formatted to be more readable to the majority of viewers.

PART 1

Joe Gimmel is a very good salesman who has had experience selling practically everything. He and a fellow salesman are relaxing at a coffee shop in Charlotte, NC watching the local news on TV. There is a terrible story about 13 cats being killed at a cat shelter in nearby Peachpit, SC. Joe is shocked; he stayed at a motel the night before in Peachpit. Meanwhile, Joe and his friend notice a rather odd flyer for a door to door CD salesman. They think this is a very ODD way to sell CDs, but Joe's friend DARES him to give it a try, as Joe has always boasted that he can "sell anything to anybody". Since he has a couple of weeks off, Joe decides to accept the dare.

Joe meets with Jack Revis in a run down section of Charlotte. Revis says that the new label he has started, Red Coffee Records, is open to both old and new methods of selling its CDs. He shows Joe their first release, JudithGoliath.com's "The Bully", and tells him this will be his product. He then gives Joe a boombox and a number of CDs, and tries to recommend the clubs and youth hangouts that Joe should target. Joe scoffs at this advice, saying he can "sell anything to anybody", and outlines his tried and tested formula: Make the customer think you have something in common with them, agree with any opinions or views they happen to express, and create a NEED for the product based on the customer's lifestyle. Revis again tries to advise Joe on demographics, but Joe says that he would like to do his selling in a "nice little town full of good people" that he recently visited: Peachpit, SC.

Joe visits a few neighborhoods and experiences some odd encounters with the townspeople. He visits an elderly woman who hears "Goliath" and thinks he is selling Bibles. When Joe gets inside, she becomes incensed at the CD and chases him away with a broom.

Joe goes to an upper middle class neighborhood. The wife of an attorney, Ms. Gerald Beck, greets him at her front door. She secretly works as a dominatrix while her husband is at work. Thinking Joe is one of her appointments, she invites him in. She likes Joe and is inspired to do outrageous things by the CD cover. Joe is frightened and flees, but leaves one of the CDs behind. Joe decides to try a more rural part of the area. There, an extremely beautiful 21 year old farmer's daughter, Anne James, invites Joe to come in. Her father is controlling, domineering, and has surveillance cameras throughout the house. Anne likes Joe. Her father, Bubba James, secretly watches and then rushes to the front room. He is grouchy and unfriendly, and when the cat killing incident comes up Mr. James says he hates cats. To try and make a sale, Joe agrees with him. Mr. James buys a CD without even listening because he likes Joe. rcpink2.jpg (26625 bytes)
